Group Operations Director – Kara Healthcare - Care Homes

Location: National

Reporting to : Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Direct Reports : Regional Directors / Managers

Are you a strategic and inspirational leader with a passion for driving excellence in care? Kara Healthcare is seeking an exceptional Group Operations Director to join our Senior Leadership Team and lead a portfolio of high-quality care services, including care homes, supported living, and specialist services.

This is a pivotal role for a proven leader who can combine operational expertise with a strong commercial mindset — ensuring outstanding quality, compliance, and performance across our growing organisation.

What You’ll Do

As Group Operations Director, you’ll :

Lead on Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Champion a culture of excellence and person-centred care.
  • Ensure services meet and exceed regulatory standards (CQC and other relevant bodies).
  • Oversee governance, safeguarding, and incident management with a focus on continuous improvement.
Drive Strategic & Commercial Success
  • Translate our Group vision into actionable regional and service-level strategies.
  • Take full ownership of budgets, delivering strong financial performance (revenue, EBITDA, cost control).
  • Partner with Business Development to identify opportunities for growth and new service launches.
Deliver Operational Excellence
  • Provide leadership and direction to Regional and Service Managers, ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Set and monitor KPIs for quality, staffing, and financial performance.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with regulators, commissioners, and key stakeholders.
Inspire People & Culture
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing operational teams.
  • Drive recruitment, retention, and leadership development strategies.
  • Promote an inclusive, values-driven culture where people thrive and service users receive outstanding care.
