Job description

Are you passionate about supporting children, young people, and families to lead healthier lives? We're looking for a dedicated Band 6 SCPHN School Nurse to join our Public Health Nursing Team, delivering preventative and supportive care within the community. Working under the guidance of a Healthy Family Team Leader and alongside a multidisciplinary, inter-agency team, you'll play a vital role in promoting health and wellbeing across a defined population.

This varied role involves working in settings such as schools, family hubs, and other local venues to make a real difference where it matters most.

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours across the week based at our Regus office location in Slough.

Main duties of the job
  • Lead the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, focusing on early intervention and tailored support for children and families.
  • Build strong relationships with schools, early years providers, and community services to deliver joined-up care.
  • Provide proactive health education and accessible drop-in clinics within school and community settings.
  • Support vulnerable children and young people through collaborative, multi-agency working.
  • Undertake health assessments and identify appropriate interventions or referrals.
  • Manage and support School Nurses and Support Staff, including delegation, supervision, and mentorship.
  • Contribute to service improvement, embedding evidence-based practice and national guidance into daily work.
  • Represent the service in safeguarding and multi-agency meetings, helping ensure the right support is provided at the right time.

About the Company

We change lives by transforming health and care.

Established in 2006, we are one of the UK’s leading independent providers of community health and care services, working with health and care commissioners and communities to transform services with a focus on experience, efficiency, and improved outcomes. We deliver and transform adult and children community health services, primary care services including urgent care, sexual health, dermatology, and MSK services as well as adult social care and wellbeing services. Across England, we support communities of many millions and directly help more than half a million people each year - guided by our simple values: we care, we think, we do.

We’re committed to equal opportunities and welcome applications from a broad, diverse range of people who want to join our team. We’re a Disability Confident Company, working to provide facilities, work environment adjustments, and technical solutions to be as inclusive as everyone.

While it doesn’t happen often, sometimes a role is very popular, and we may need to close it earlier than the shown date. If you’re keen to join our team, we’d love to hear from you, so please apply as soon as you can.
