A leading housing services provider in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Senior Housing Practitioner to join their Relief Team in Dorset. This role involves managing a team, overseeing complex casework, and developing solutions to prevent homelessness. A degree and CIH Level 4 are required, along with significant housing services experience. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Housing Practitioner to join the Relief Team within a local authority in Dorset. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled housing professional to take on a leadership role focused on preventing homelessness and reducing the use of temporary accommodation, while benefiting from hybrid working arrangements.
As the Senior Housing Practitioner, you will line‑manage a team of Housing Options Officers, providing professional supervision, guidance, and support to deliver a high‑performing, customer‑focused service. You will draw on your strong knowledge of Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996 and other relevant legislation to oversee complex casework and make sound, evidence‑based decisions.
Working within a multi‑agency framework, you will develop effective partnerships and interventions that support clients to achieve sustainable housing outcomes. A key aspect of this role will be leading initiatives to reduce temporary accommodation use through prevention‑focused and creative housing solutions.
You’ll have significant experience in housing services, including complex casework and essential line‑management experience. A degree‑level qualification and CIH Level 4 (or equivalent) are required. Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organisational skills are a must.
