Accounting and Tax Planning Manager
Job summary
A UK-based consulting firm is seeking an experienced accounting and tax manager to manage a diverse client portfolio. This role involves delivering tailored accounting and tax planning solutions, engaging with clients and HMRC, and mentoring junior staff. Candidates must be ACA, ACCA, CTA qualified with relevant experience in the UK. Knowledge of agriculture or equestrian sectors is a plus. The position requires excellent communication skills and a strong analytical mindset. Office location necessitates commuting distance as sponsorship is unavailable.
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant with experience in UK practice.
- Knowledge of agriculture or equestrian industries is advantageous.
- Experience in managing client relationships and providing tax planning.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients delivering accounting and tax planning solutions.
- Respond to client queries and HMRC communications.
- Review accounts and tax returns, identifying planning opportunities.
- Train and mentor junior staff, conduct staff appraisals.
- Ensure workloads align with service level agreements.
Skills
Education
Our client provides accounting and tax advice to a range of businesses, professionals and individuals and is currently recruiting for an accounting and tax manager to support their farming and property portfolio.
This role will see you managing a portfolio of clients to deliver accounting and tax planning solutions, managing and developing these relationships to meet service level agreements.
The successful candidate will be ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent qualified with experience working within a UK practice. A knowledge of agriculture, farming or equestrian industries would also be an advantage.
- Gain good understanding of clients and their businesses and become point of contact
- Respond to all client queries and those from HMRC on their behalf
- Review accounts and tax returns
- Identify business and tax planning opportunities
- Train and mentor junior staff
- Staff appraisals
- Manage workloads in the line with service level agreements and compliance
You will need to be an analytical thinker, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and have experience in a similar role.
Candidates will need to leave in an easy, commutable distance to the office and have full UK working rights as sponsorship is not available.
Interviews will be held week commencing 5th January 2026 and will be in person.
