Job summary
A staffing agency is looking for a Technical Applications Engineer based in Castleford. The candidate should have a Mechanical Engineering background and experience with centrifugal pumps, along with technical support capabilities. This full-time permanent position offers a salary between £35,000 and £45,000 per annum, with responsibilities including preparation of estimates and providing technical assistance.

- Experience in centrifugal pumps and wastewater industry preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ISO quality systems.
Responsibilities
- Select and prepare pumping equipment estimates.
- Calculate pipe friction losses and produce system curves.
- Provide technical support and manage bespoke projects.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Applications Engineer - Industrial Pumps based in Castleford to join one of our clients on a full‑time permanent basis.
Summary of the Technical Applications Engineer role
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
Location: Castleford
Type of Contract: Permanent, Full time
Hours: Monday Thursday 8:15am - 4:45pm, Fridays 8:15am - 1:45pm
- Selection, preparation and delivery of pumping equipment estimates and quotations.
- Calculate pipe friction losses and produce system curves using in‑house tools.
- Prepare estimates and quotations.
- Ensure all data recording systems and costings are up to date and current.
- Involved with bespoke projects.
- Provide technical support.
- HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience/Knowledge of centrifugal pumps, applications, performance curves, system curves etc.
- Experience in the wastewater industry and frameworks.
- Excellent working knowledge of ISO quality systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings, specifications and schematics.
