About the Role

DP World in the UK is at the heart of Britain’s trading future, providing trading infrastructure, smart logistical solutions, and the benefits of freeport status to our customers. An excellent opportunity has opened within the IT Team for a Software Developer based in Southampton.

What you’ll be doing:

• Designing, developing, and testing software that supports mission-critical port operations.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
• Deploying and managing applications using containerisation tools like Docker.
• Supporting CI/CD pipelines to streamline delivery and deployment.
• Ensuring system reliability, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.

What you’ll bring:

• Development expertise: Proficiency in C# (.NET Framework and Core), WCF, WPF, MVVM, REST APIs, and message queuing.
• Database skills: Strong experience with MS SQL and Entity Framework.
• DevOps knowledge: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Methodologies: Experience with Agile, TDD, DevOps practices, and SOLID principles.
• Business insight: Knowledge of logistics or container terminal systems is a plus. Experience with enterprise billing or invoicing systems is highly valued.
• Tools: Comfortable using Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket.
• Soft skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
• Team spirit: Able to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
