The Pharmacy Assistant role entails day-to-day tasks such as ordering, receiving, and unpacking pharmaceutical products, adhering to Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Key responsibilities include ensuring timely sourcing of medicines, accurate use of the pharmacy computer system for receiving goods, acting as a second checker for Controlled Drugs administration, conducting regular stock and expiry date checks, and maintaining high standards of work accuracy. Additionally, the role involves managing Medicines Optimisation work, communicating with healthcare departments, dealing with queries, and adhering to prison procedures and regulations. Candidates must undergo National Security Vetting and provide necessary documentation as outlined in the job description.
All applicants must be willing to undergo National Security Vetting for work in a Prison Setting. Documentation required includes proof of right to work, ID, address history, and for non-UK passport holders, additional documentation is necessary. Guidance for obtaining Police Certificates is provided for applicants with international residency.
