An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Healthcare Assistant to join the Children's Community Nursing Team in Grimsby.

This position will involve providing high quality nursing support to children and their families in their own homes. The successful candidate will also be expected to regularly work in the paediatric blood clinics.

We are a hard working, friendly and approachable team of paediatric nurses, healthcare assistants and admin staff working in the community, providing nursing care for children and young people within their own homes. We are committed to providing excellent care and have vast knowledge and skills to do this.

We will provide support and training required for this position.

Main duties of the job

The paediatric advanced healthcare assistant is a member of a community nursing team who undertakes duties in relation to patient care and nursing team administration, in the community setting. Duties will be assigned by and carried out under the indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse, according to the individual patient care plan. Duties include discussion and reporting of any changes in the patient's condition to the registered nurse on a daily basis. You will need to undertake paediatric venepuncture on a regular basis working alongside the Hospital Play Specialists. Training and support will be provided. Where additional skills training is identified as required by the job description, the post holder will not undertake these duties until training has been undertaken (except as part of the supervised learning experience). Duties within this job description will be delegated by a Registered Nurse.
