Job summary
A Local Education Authority in Portsmouth is looking for experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to assist pupils with special educational needs. The role includes supporting learning, promoting the Catholic ethos, and fostering a positive environment. Candidates should possess an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in supporting teaching and learning. The position offers a supportive team and a friendly educational setting. This is a part-time role, term-time only, that requires a caring and collaborative approach.

St John’s Cathedral Catholic Primary is a small, friendly school in the heart of Portsmouth. We have a tradition of providing an excellent education alongside superb pastoral care.
We are currently seeking to appoint experienced LSAs to work across our school and nursery with pupils who have a range of needs. The role will include working with pupils with behaviour and/or special educational needs. Duties may include some break time supervision, support in class and personal care.
We are looking for LSAs who:
- Have experience of working with children with special educational needs
- Will assist in promoting the learning and personal development of pupils enabling them to make best use of the educational opportunities available to them.
- Will promote the Catholic ethos of the school
- Are positive, caring and work well in a team
- Have an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in supporting teaching and learning (or equivalent)
