Learning Support Assistants (LSA)

We have a position for a KS 1 and KS 2 LSA

• Closing Date: Applications will be considered upon receipt, and interviews arranged accordingly.
• Job Start Date: as soon as possible
• Contract/Hours: 32.5 hrs/wk, Term time only plus one week. M‑F 8.30am‑3.30pm with ½ hr lunch
• Salary: Band 3, FTE £24,027 ‑ £24,420 pro rata £18,791‑ £19,098

St John’s Cathedral Catholic Primary is a small, friendly school in the heart of Portsmouth. We have a tradition of providing an excellent education alongside superb pastoral care.

We are currently seeking to appoint experienced LSAs to work across our school and nursery with pupils who have a range of needs. The role will include working with pupils with behaviour and/or special educational needs. Duties may include some break time supervision, support in class and personal care.

We are looking for LSAs who:

• Have experience of working with children with special educational needs
• Will assist in promoting the learning and personal development of pupils enabling them to make best use of the educational opportunities available to them.
• Will promote the Catholic ethos of the school
• Are positive, caring and work well in a team
• Have an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in supporting teaching and learning (or equivalent)
