Job summary
A market-leading technology company is seeking an experienced Software Engineer for a 6-month contract. The role requires 5+ years of Python development experience, specifically in hardware-oriented applications. Candidates must have experience with instrumentation or control-based software and a physics background is preferred. The position involves 3 days on-site in Cambridge with 2 days remote work.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years Python development experience, working on highly numerical software.
- Experience with instrumentation or control-based software and large amounts of sensor data is essential.
- Ideally have a physics background applicable to engineering.
Responsibilities
- Developing hardware-oriented software in a fast-paced environment.
- Working onsite in Cambridge for 3 days a week.

Outside IR35 Software Engineer. My market leading client has a superb new opening for an experienced hardware-oriented Software Engineer to join them on an initial 6 month contract.
This role is Outside IR35. Due to the nature of hardware requirements it will involve 3 days a week on-site in Cambridge; 2 days a week working from home.
- At least 5 years Python development experience, working on highly numerical software with associated libraries (e.g. NumPy, SciPy).
- Previous experience working on instrumentation or control-based software with large amounts of sensor data is essential.
- Ideally a physics background that can be applied to engineering.
