Job description
About the Role

We're seeking a charismatic, technically exceptional Network Evangelist who can bridge engineering expertise with the ability to “sell the dream.” In this role, you will champion modern network solutions, inspire clients, and help shape the direction of our network practice.

This position combines hands‑on technical delivery, thought leadership, presales influence, and community evangelism. You'll spend time working directly with clients, running POCs, shaping architectures, and representing our consultancy's network vision across the industry.

Salary: £100,000
Location: Hybrid — typically 2‑3 days per week in London

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Delivery
  • Design, implement, and optimise advanced network solutions across enterprise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Perform deep‑dive assessments, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.
  • Lead network transformation projects with a focus on quality, scalability, and innovation.
  • Deliver technical POCs to validate solutions and demonstrate value to clients.
Evangelism, Influence & Thought Leadership
  • Act as a visible champion for modern networking — both internally and externally.
  • Produce engaging content such as blogs, demos, videos, and technical deep dives.
  • Present at events, webinars, and customer workshops with confidence and clarity.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, emerging network architectures, and vendor roadmaps.
Client Engagement & Pre‑Sales
  • Engage with customers early in their journey to understand requirements and paint the technical vision.
  • Transform complex networking concepts into compelling, business‑aligned value propositions.
  • Support technical presales activities including scoping, solution design, RFP responses, and vendor comparisons.
  • Build strong relationships with people at all levels — from engineers through to senior stakeholders.
Vendor Collaboration
  • Work with key network vendors to stay aligned on portfolio, partner programmes, and upcoming technologies.
  • Understand how to match client needs to the right vendor ecosystem (SD‑WAN, SASE, routing/switching, cloud networking, etc.).
  • Contribute to building and maintaining strategic vendor relationships and certifications.
Internal Enablement
  • Mentor engineers on best practices, architecture patterns, and new technologies.
  • Help shape new service offerings, frameworks, and technical assets.
  • Share knowledge effectively to elevate the entire team's capability.
Skills & Experience Required
Technical
  • Strong background in enterprise networking, ideally within a consultancy or vendor‑led environment.
  • Expertise in routing, switching, wireless, network security, and cloud networking.
  • Familiarity with modern ecosystems such as SD‑WAN, SASE, Zero Trust, and network automation.
  • Comfortable running POCs, demos, and hands‑on labs.
Soft Skills & Behaviour
  • Exceptionally good with people — able to build rapport, trust, and momentum quickly.
  • Confident storyteller who can “sell the dream” through vision, clarity, and technical credibility.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Ability to influence both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Desirable Certifications
  • CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, cloud networking certs, or vendor‑specific equivalents are advantageous.
  • Track record of talks, technical blogging, community contributions, or advocacy is a plus.
