Job Role: Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will be expected to help and assist the team with day-to-day routines including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers must have at least 6 months of care experience and a compassionate attitude.

They will help with the day-to-day care of patients in various settings such as homes, hospitals, or patients' own homes.

Previous experience and/or qualifications in care are essential.

As a Healthcare Assistant and Support Worker, you will work under the supervision of nursing staff and alongside other healthcare assistants.

Your duties may include:

• Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing
• Assisting with feeding
• Making and changing beds
• Turning patients to prevent pressure sores
• Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
• Helping patients move around
• Assisting with toileting needs
• Maintaining cleanliness of the ward or patient’s homes
• Managing supplies and equipment

You may also use mobility aids and escort patients within hospitals. With experience, you might participate in induction training for new healthcare assistants.
