Job summary
A leading engineering firm is seeking a Principal Maritime Structural Engineer located in Portsmouth for a 6-month contract. The role involves utilizing Finite Element Analysis to develop models and ensure project safety while leading multidisciplinary teams. Proven experience in structural design and a BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering are required. Candidates must have security clearance or eligibility for it. This is an opportunity for those passionate about contributing to innovative maritime defense engineering projects.
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent understanding of engineering principles.
- Substantial experience of structural design to recognised codes of practice (Maritime or Civil).
- Experience in Finite Element Analysis of structures and systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate engineering activities for projects.
- Mentor and share expertise with engineering teams.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration and compliance with standards.
- Engage with partners and stakeholders to develop joint technical approaches.
- Ensure safe project delivery by identifying hazards.
