Job summary

A leading maritime technology company is seeking Electrical Fitters for a naval shipbuilding program in Portsmouth. This role involves installing and maintaining electrical systems on naval vessels while ensuring compliance with MOD standards. Candidates should have a recognized electrical apprenticeship and a strong attention to detail. The position offers PAYE rates based on distance to work, with a full-time fixed-term contract for 6 months.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance.
• Experience in marine, industrial, shipbuilding, oil & gas, or rail environments preferred.

Naval Shipbuilding Programme | Immediate Start

Contract Duration: TBC

Employment Type: PAYE (Inside IR35)

Position: Electrical Fitter

PAYE Rates (Local – Under 39 miles): Standard shift £20.10 Early shift £23.12 Backshift £25.13

PAYE Rates (Local – Over 39 miles): Standard shift £28.10 Early shift £31.12 Backshift £33.13

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and test electrical systems on naval vessels
• Interpret and work from technical drawings and wiring diagrams
• Perform cable pulling, terminations, and general marine electrical tasks
• Ensure all work meets MOD standards and strict performance criteria

Health & Safety Compliance Requirements

• Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship
• Experience in marine, industrial, shipbuilding, oil & gas offshore or rail environments preferred
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
