The purpose of this role is to prepare food samples for analysis as specified by and in line with client requirements, ensuring smooth operation and flow of samples by following standard procedures currently in place.
Please note this is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00 till 17:00. The training shift for the first two weeks will be Monday to Friday 08:00-16:00.
Complete the preparation of food samples in accordance with standard operating procedures, standards of quality and the requirements of ISO17025.
Distribution of food samples to laboratories for analysis.
To identify any anomalies and be able to take the necessary steps for a quick resolution.
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders in regards to sample/result queries via email and telephone, maintaining a professional approach at all times.
Partake in any cross departmental developmental training to support and assist with the registration of chemistry samples.
Adhering to documented procedures for all aspects of departmental work, ensuring that all relevant information concerning samples is recorded, that samples are handled correctly, and that all necessary records and quality data are maintained.
Maintain turnaround time at >99%, ensuring that daily targets are achieved.
Responsible for ensuring that UK health and safety legislation is maintained and helping to ensure that the working environment is kept in a clean and tidy manner.
Ensure personal protective clothing equipment is worn in accordance with the Health & Safety policy.
Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.
To assist through operating best practice in order to meet the requirements of the UKAS accreditation standard.
Responsibility for promoting a professional image of the company and complying with the company’s equal opportunities and harassment policies at all times. Including work related events which take place outside of normal working hours.
Qualifications
Laboratory and production experience would be desirable.
Enthusiasm, energy and a driven outlook
Good communication skills both written and verbally
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Maths, English, Chemistry or Biology at GCSE grade C or above, or equivalent.
