Job Title

Senior Process Development Scientist

Location

Slough – Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed.

This laboratory‑based position sits within the Bioprocess Analytics and Automation team, part of the Protein and Process Analytics R&D function. The postholder will contribute to the development, optimisation, and support of liquid‑handling automation to strengthen plate‑based analytical assays, while also providing specialist analytical expertise and ensuring consistently high standards of laboratory execution.

Candidates should demonstrate strong technical capability, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving. Experience with automation technologies and analytical instrumentation is highly desirable, together with a commitment to scientific rigour and effective collaboration.

What you will do
  • Lead Contribute tothe development, optimisation, and day‑to‑day operation of liquid‑handling automation systems, with a strong focus on enhancing the robustness, throughput, and reproducibility of plate‑based assays (including reductase, NADPH‑dependent, LDH, and related formats).
  • Apply broad analytical knowledge to ensure automated workflows align with project objectives, contributing to method optimisation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Execute a diverse range of analytical assays—such as liquid chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, purification methods, and ELISAs—to support R&D initiatives and routine analytical testing.
  • Present findings effectively to project teams and stakeholders through clear verbal communication (e.g., project meetings) and well ‑ structured written documentation (e.g., experimental records, data summaries, development reports).
  • Maintain precise, timely, and compliant laboratory documentation in accordance with internal quality standards.
