Job summary
A well-regarded secondary school in Romford is seeking a reliable Science Technician to support their Science department. The role involves preparing equipment and materials for lessons, assisting with practical experiments in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, and maintaining laboratories to high standards. Candidates should have a strong interest in Science and prior lab experience. - Prepare and set up equipment, materials and chemicals for Science lessons
- Support practical experiments across Biology, Chemistry and Physics
- Ensure labs, prep rooms and equipment are maintained to a high standard
- Follow all health and safety procedures, risk assessments and COSHH regulations
- Provide technical assistance to teachers during practical sessions
- Help manage stock levels and organise laboratory resources
- Previous experience as a Science Technician (or strong transferable lab experience)
- Good understanding of safe laboratory practice
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently, independently and as part of a team
