Job summary
A carpentry services company in the UK seeks an experienced carpenter with a minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience. Responsibilities
- Select and measure wood; cut and shape using tools.
- Install wooden flooring with precision.
- Assemble frames and furniture using various techniques.
- Verify accuracy and alignment of work.
- Maintain and repair existing woodwork as necessary.
Skills
- Select and measure appropriate wood; cut, shape, and drill to specifications using hand and power tools (saws, planes, chisels, etc.).
- Install and fit wooden flooring, ensuring accurate cutting, level alignment, and seamless joints.
- Assemble frames, shop fronts, counters, decking, furniture, small crafts, scale models, and templates using screws, nails, glue, dowels, or joinery techniques.
- Verify accuracy and alignment using squares, rulers, and spirit levels.
- Maintain, repair, and refinish existing woodwork and fixtures as required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ hands‑on experience as a carpenter.
- Proficient in all aspects of carpentry, including measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling wood components for frames, furniture, flooring, partitions, and fixtures.
- Experience working with various types of wood, sheet goods, adhesives, fasteners, and finishing materials.
- Keen eye for detail, precision, and clean craftsmanship.
- Ability to read technical drawings or follow client specifications accurately.
- Fluent in both English and Chinese – essential for clear communication with clients and team members.
