We are looking for an experienced Practice Accountant who can hit the ground running, contribute independently, and help us grow. This is not an entry-level training role.

As a Practice Accountant at Gold Stag Accounts, you will:

• Prepare and finalise annual accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
• Review and complete self‑assessment tax returns
• Handle corporate, personal and partnership tax computations and returns
• Supervise and review work from junior staff
• Deal with HMRC correspondence and compliance
• Maintain required CPD, Money Laundering and GDPR records
• Perform other duties as required

To be successful in this role, you must:

• Hold a professional accounting qualification at AAT Level 4 or above
• Have at least 2 years’ experience in accountancy practice or relevant industry role
• Be highly experienced in reviewing and finalising annual accounts and self‑assessments
• Be proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Be a self‑starter with excellent attention to detail
• Live in the United Kingdom and have the legal right to work here

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience with FreeAgent, Xero and/or QuickBooks

Note: We will only consider applicants who are based in the UK and eligible to work here. We are not recruiting outsourced roles or candidates based outside the UK.

Location: Fully remote (must be based in the UK with legal right to work)

Hours: Part‑time initially, with the potential to move to full‑time subject to business needs and candidate preference

Salary: £31,000 – £45,000 pro‑rata per annum, depending on experience and qualifications
