An education assessment provider in Cambridge is seeking a visiting moderator to verify the quality of practical activity at various centres. This role requires relevant teaching or assessment experience within the last three years and a teaching qualification or degree related to the assessment subject. The position involves arranging visits, reporting findings, and working closely with a team leader. Candidates must be UK-based and capable of handling approximately 15 moderation visits annually. Training will be provided.
As a visiting moderator, you’ll be verifying the quality of the centre’s provision of practical activity, and the procedures for maintaining the documentary requirements. You’ll be part of a team and you’ll work closely with your team leader.
You will contact centres to arrange a visit, visit the centre in person and follow up the visit with a report to the centre. You must be UK based.
We’ll make sure you are fully trained so you understand the monitoring process and your part in it. There will also be standardisation activities to make sure you can apply the criteria consistently. Visiting moderation is carried out throughout the year and generally requires 15 moderation visits per year. The amount of work involved will vary depending on the mode of moderation and the level of the qualification.
You would generally moderate around 16 centres with about six samples per centre. We’ll quote specific details and fees when we offer you a moderation task.
Please note, you don’t need to be teaching the OCR specification of your subject. We would also be interested in people with current or previous experience of working for other examination boards. Applicants will be subject to right to work and other background checks.
