Oromo Freelance Remote Translator

We help non-English speakers access essential services, such as medical care, by providing interpreters of over 512 languages and dialects. Dals is seeking Oromo speakers to join our team of freelance translators working remotely. If you're proficient in both English and Oromo and have translation experience, we’re eager to connect with you!

This position plays a vital role in helping our clients deliver their services efficiently by translating documents into the languages required by their service users. Your role as a translator with Dals includes translating digital documents for our clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines, and performing necessary proofreading. You will also communicate with our booking team for any needed support or to report issues, ensuring the readiness of documents for client submission.

• Right to work in the country of residence
• Fluent in English and a second language at a C1 level or higher
• Prepared to undergo a trial assessment
• Basic DBS check or equivalent security clearance for EU residents
• At least 1 year of translation experience, translating a minimum of 100,000 words or completing 100 assignments
• Relevant qualifications in Translation, Languages, Linguistics, or related field (e.g., BA or MA in Translation, CIOL Level 7 Diploma in Translation, DPI Level 4 & 5 in Translation, BA or MA in Languages, Linguistics or related disciplines)
• Freedom to work flexibly as a freelance translator (ability to log into our platform and be paid per minute worked)
• Ability to manage own tax payments as a freelancer
• Ability to have approximately 100 hours interpreting experience, either professionally or through voluntary work
• Fluency in English and Oromo; telephone language assessment will be conducted
• EU residency required
