Overview

Job Title: Electrical QS – Permanent / Full Time / Work From Home role

You will be covering site near Glasgow, Scotland, and the Newcastle area. Mitie are looking for an Electrical QS to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be homebased whilst still being part of the growing Mitie, supporting the Cornerstone Account on Project Janus.

Responsibilities
  • This is a key role supporting Mitie's growing number of electricians working on the Cornerstone estate.
  • This role is responsible for the quality and compliance of the electrical works carried out on the Cornerstone account.
  • To carry out duties in compliance with Mitie Technical Facilities Management Ltd Policies and Procedures.
  • To drive and promote Mitie's One Code which is integral to our company's values and behaviours.
  • To perform tasks to an exceptional standard to meet both Client and Mitie expectations
  • Compliance with Mitie Health and Safety policy and current legislation
What are the main duties for the role?
  • Ensuring that the results of inspection and testing are recorded correctly on the appropriate certificates or reports.
  • Ensure that all categorisations of remedial works raised because of a QS check on an EICR are ticketed and managed to completion, along with sign off.
  • Ensuring that the business' premises, equipment, documentation, and records are available for inspection when required by Mitie or NICEIC.
  • Management of all unused NICEIC forms of certification and reporting any loss, theft, or misuse.
  • Mentoring of our field-based electricians to ensure they have the skills, knowledge, and equipment to fulfil their tasks to the required standard.
  • Be visible to the field-based engineers via regular site visits, Teams Calls, toolbox talks, etc.
  • Ensure the Health and Safety of our staff, customers, and the public always.
  • Adherence & Promotion of the company & department mission vision & values.
  • Assist the site team in ensuring that all Statutory and Legislative requirements are achieved/adhered to for the contract.
  • To ensure clients operational procedures are always adhered to.
  • Ensure Mitie's compliance to contractual requirements.
  • Represent Mitie on customer facing meetings, i.e., Operational Review Meetings, Service Review Meetings etc.
  • Be an electrical Subject Matter Expert for the Mitie Cornerstone account

Experience & Management
  • Understand the Electricity at Work Regulations, current edition of BS 7671, and the Codes of Practice and guidance documents relevant to the scope of electrical work undertaken.
  • Understand the inspection, testing, verification, certification, and reporting procedures for the scope of electrical works undertaken.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience of the installations and maintenance of electrical field-based assets including conducting periodic Electrical Test and Inspection, EICR's.
  • Experienced in the mentoring and training of electrical engineers.
Interacting & Communicating
  • The ability to establish good relationships with internal and external team members.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and co-operate within a team ethic.
  • Excellent presentation skills both internally and client facing with proven track record at delivering presentations.
  • A diplomatic but firm manner with excellent powers of persuasion and ability to make own decisions and see them through.
  • Experience at customer care evaluation, communication and monitoring.
Analysing & Reporting
  • Must be able to write clearly and succinctly in a logical and structured way.
  • Must have good analytical skills to produce practical solutions to a range of problems.
  • Good IT skills with the ability to produce reports from multiple sources/systems.
