This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Engineering Manager - Accounting in Europe.
This is an exciting opportunity to build and lead a brand-new Trust Accounting engineering team within a rapidly scaling SaaS environment. As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a financial subsystem that ensures accuracy, compliance, and reliability for customers. You will shape both the technical direction and team culture, establishing processes and practices that emphasize accountability and precision. Beyond technical leadership, you will foster strong collaboration with product, finance, legal, and engineering stakeholders to align goals and deliver on time. This fully remote position is open to candidates physically based in Europe.
Accountabilities
- Build and lead a product engineering team of 5-7 engineers dedicated to financial correctness and compliance.
- Drive timely, high-quality delivery of the trust accounting subsystem with secure, scalable, auditable, and maintainable architecture.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Finance, Legal, and Engineering teams to ensure alignment and execution.
- Establish and refine delivery processes that enhance speed, system reliability, and team autonomy.
- Mentor and coach engineers, cultivating a culture of ownership, precision, and continuous improvement.
- Define and promote engineering practices that emphasize resilience, quality, and observability.
- Contribute technical context to key architectural and system design discussions while ensuring transparency and accountability.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineering Manager or in a similar leadership role (CTO, Director of Engineering, Head of Engineering) with people management responsibilities.
- Strong foundation in software engineering, with the ability to contribute to architectural and technical discussions.
- Proven success leading engineering teams in product-driven environments, ideally in SaaS or platform businesses.
- Ability to drive execution by setting goals, managing delivery timelines, and removing blockers.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing engineering talent in distributed, remote-first environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in agile environments with fast-moving priorities.
- Fluent English is required; familiarity with fintech or accounting is a plus but not mandatory.
