Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a compliance team of 20+ apprenticeship coordinators and administrators over Pearson TQ's military contracts.
  • Set team goals (OKRs), monitor performance, undertake quarterly performance reviews and provide regular feedback and development opportunities.
  • Motivate and support team members to achieve individual and team goals.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and 1-2-1s.
Data Management
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly returns of ILR data checks by compliance teams, including PDSAT, FIS, VYED and D_Lock reports.

  • Ensure timely and accurate administration of ILR data by compliance teams via Maytas MIS.
  • Monitor performance against internal and external data KPIs and collate quarterly data for Army management meetings (CAMs).
  • Identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Update teams on any changes to data management processes or requirements and provide relevant training and CPD.
Apprenticeship Administration
  • Ensure apprenticeship evidence packs are generated at the start of apprenticeship programmes in‑line with Army and DfE requirements, including initial assessment and any RPL reductions.
  • Oversee and monitor apprenticeship induction processes and procedures to ensure compliance with DfE and Army requirements.
  • Update apprenticeship evidence pack paperwork annually, including updates to training plans as and when required.
  • Ensure ongoing administration of apprenticeship evidence packs, including breaks in learning (BiL), returns from BiL, reviews, gateways, achievements, withdrawals and certificates (utilising Maytas and OneFile e‑portfolio).
  • Deliver ongoing refresher and CPD training to compliance teams on the completion of apprenticeship evidence packs.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with program managers, delivery teams, quality teams and other internal stakeholders to ensure compliance across all contracts.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders within the Army and WBL Services to address compliance‑related matters affecting contracts.
Audit
  • Ensure compliance teams undertake internal audit activity as per Pearson TQ's internal audit policy and provide support and training where required.
  • Coordinate with Pearson TQ's Apprenticeship Audit Manager and support internal and external audit activity.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of changes in funding rules and audit requirements.
What we are looking for

You will be a highly adaptable and resilient professional with strong analytical and decision‑making abilities, bringing valuable experience in apprenticeship delivery across diverse organisations. You'll demonstrate a positive, solution‑focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement, both personally and for those within your team. Proficiency in ILR MIS systems such as Maytas and e‑portfolio platforms like OneFile is an advantage. In addition you will possess the following:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within an education or work‑based learning setting.
  • A good understanding of apprenticeship funding rules, ILR management, PDSATs and apprenticeship standards.
  • The ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and resolve compliance issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Commitment to team success and personal development.
Benefits
  • 25 days' annual leave, rising to 30 days with each year of service
  • Flexible leave scheme allowing purchase or sale of annual leave
  • TQ Aviva pension scheme
  • Private medical insurance
  • Dental insurance (optional at a reduced rate)
  • Share‑to‑Save scheme
  • Bravo points reward programme – collect and spend points on a wide range of items
  • Three additional days' leave between Christmas and New Year for individuals who meet all goals/objectives and exceed expectations at year‑end review
