Job summary
A leading tech firm in the UK is seeking a Technical Architect with expertise in AWS and Azure to join their cloud-native transformation programme. In this role, you will lead architecture design, mentor teams, and drive DevOps practices. The ideal candidate has a strong background in cloud architecture, Python, and Terraform, with a proven track record in delivering scalable solutions. This position offers a competitive daily rate with remote working options.
Qualifications
- Strong background in AWS and/or Azure cloud architecture.
- Excellent knowledge of Python and Terraform.
- Experience designing scalable, secure, cloud-native platforms.
- Solid DevOps mindset: CI/CD, IaC, observability, reliability.
- Ability to influence technical direction while remaining hands-on.
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder interaction.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end cloud-native architecture design across AWS and Azure.
- Build automation and infrastructure tooling using Python and Terraform.
- Work closely with teams to turn business requirements into architectural solutions.
- Drive standards around cloud governance, observability, and high availability.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentor teams.

Inside IR35 | £650 per day (approx.)
We’re looking for a hands-on Technical Architect to join a major cloud-native transformation programme. This is a role for someone who can move confidently between high-level architectural thinking and deep technical delivery, shaping solutions and helping teams make them real.
If you enjoy solving complex technical problems, setting engineering direction, and guiding teams through modern cloud-native patterns, this is a great opportunity.
- Lead end-to-end cloud-native architecture design across both AWS and Azure , ensuring security, scalability, resilience, and operational excellence.
- Build automation and infrastructure tooling using Python , Terraform , and modern DevOps practices.
- Work closely with engineering, security, and product teams to turn business requirements into robust architectural solutions and clear technical roadmaps .
- Drive standards around cloud governance , infrastructure-as-code , observability , cost optimisation , and high availability .
- Provide hands-on technical leadership — code reviews, technical oversight, solution design — while mentoring teams and supporting delivery.
- Strong background in AWS (preferred) and / or Azure cloud architecture
- Excellent knowledge of Python , Terraform , and modern automation patterns
- Experience designing scalable, secure, cloud-native platforms
- A solid DevOps mindset : CI / CD, IaC, observability, reliability
- Ability to influence technical direction while remaining hands-on
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with engineering, product, and security stakeholders
