Job summary
A leading recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a manufacturing site in Newark, England. The ideal candidate will have a formal qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering, strong electrical experience from FMCG, and good technical skills. The role involves responding to breakdowns, collaborating with departments for site improvements, and carrying out projects for effective engineering installations. This contract position offers a rate of £37+ per hour, with shifts covering days, afternoons, and nights.
Qualifications
- A formal qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Strong electrical experience in FMCG.
- Experience with controls and fault finding.
- Background in reactive and preventative maintenance.
- Technical ability related to automation hardware/software.
Responsibilities

My Client is a leading manufacturing site looking for Electrical Maintenance Engineer with FMCG experience to join on both an ongoing basis and ad-hoc.
- Reacting to breakdowns both electrically and mechanically, fault finding, analysing and continuously improving the site.
- Work closely with other departments to improve the site.
- Attend meetings as required, analyse data and find solutions to improve equipment performance whilst ensuring safe working practice and full communications are maintained at all times.
- In addition, you will be involved in projects within the business to develop an effective engineering install and commissioning.
- PLC fault finding
- A formal qualification in an electrical or mechanical engineering subject (apprentice served, NVQ, HNC or equivalent)
- Strong electrical experience preferable within a FMCG environment.
- Knowledge / experience of working with controls, analysing faults and providing solutions.
- Experience of both reactive and preventative maintenance
- Good technical ability relating to automation hardware and software.
- Strong organisation and communication skills and the ability to work in a multi-disciplined team of varying levels of technical experience.
