Job description

Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for Maintenance Engineer, to join an established FMCG business located near Leicester.

As a Maintenance Engineer you will provide effective mechanical services to the factory equipment. You will ensure that fault diagnosis and breakdown on all production process equipment, despatch equipment, are carried out in an efficient manner to minimise downtime.

What in for you as a Maintenance Engineer:
  • Base Salary up to £40,000
  • Working hours Sunday - Thursday, rotational 6am-2pm/2pm -10am
Key Responsibilities Maintenance Engineer:
  • Carry out preventative maintenance works on all production process equipment, despatch equipment,including electrical cabling and wiring to control equipment in accordance with established schedules
  • Carry out miscellaneous work of an electrical/mechanical nature as detailed in the Quality Management systems document
  • Conduct repairs/replacements on equipment
  • Responsible for the removal and installation of pumps and motors
  • Carry out electrical isolations on production equipment and systems in accordance with company procedures
  • Monitor and adjust process equipment to optimise its performance in accordance with production requirements and quality assurance standards
  • Carry out minor modifications to process equipment as directed and assist in installing new equipment as appropriate
  • Identify spare parts, equipment and materials required to minimise downtime
  • Ensure all the tasks undertaken are recorded on the engineering maintenance system
  • Complete other duties as and when required ensuring that the company meets its objectives
  • Supervision and management of contractors when required
Person Specification Maintenance Engineer:
  • Experience of working in a similar role ideally in an FMCG environment
  • The ability to read mechanical drawings on new machinery to assist in commissioning
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an Engineering or Mechanical Qualification
  • Experience of completing basic electrical requirements
  • Experience of working in confined spaces or working at height are desirable but not essential
  • Good mechanical skills
  • To be representative of the company's high standards always and to conduct yourself in a professional and positive manner
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to react positively as areas of concern affect the performance of the factory
