Job summary

A leading FMCG food manufacturer in North Manchester is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join their maintenance team. You will be responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of site process systems, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards, and actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a background in FMCG environments, relevant engineering qualifications, and experience in fault diagnosis. Full training can be provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • Experience in FMCG manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Ideally, experience as a multi-skilled engineer.
  • 17th/18th edition is an advantage.

Job description

Scantec are working in partnership with a fantastic FMCG Food Manufacturer in North Manchester. We're seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer (Elec Bias).

Shift Pattern
  • 4 on, 4 off pattern – 7-7, 2x days, 2x nights.
Responsibilities
  • Continuous development of knowledge and familiarity with the engineering requirements of the site process systems and machinery
  • Work as an active part of a skilled cross‑functional planned maintenance team
  • Ensure correct Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene standards are adhered to at all times
  • Ensure a fast and effective response especially under breakdown conditions
  • Quickly diagnose faults and take corrective action
  • Assist an support mechanical engineers with their duties
  • Actively participate in a Continuous Improvement culture throughout the site, constantly identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce waste
  • Assist in the training of fellow maintenance engineers, operator‑technicians and others where necessary
  • Ensure planned maintenance work is completed to strict schedules, and constantly look for improvements that will ensure reliability of equipment is improved
  • Ensure good working practices are adhered to throughout
  • Work on various projects including installation and modifications to plant and equipment.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Ideally you'll be an experienced multi‑skilled engineer with the appropriate engineering qualifications
  • Experience within a fast‑paced FMCG manufacturing environment is essential
  • 17th/18th edition is an advantage as full development and training can be provided
