Financial Accountant – Top 20 firm seeking a qualified accountant to join their growing business services team to work exclusively with large global businesses. This team of over 60 people provides the full complement of outsourced services covering accounting and other administrative functions such as management accounting, financial statements, VAT and regulatory reporting for clients in the finance services sector.

To provide quality accounting services to clients within the Business Services Team, with a focus on financial reporting under UK GAAP and IFRS. The role supports the development of a growing service line within the team, concentrating on technical financial reporting.

• Managing a growing client portfolio, as well as carrying out all accounting work for a wide range of profit-making organisations in accordance with the firm\'s and statutory procedures. This will include planning, executing, completing and producing client-ready product independently and with minimum supervision.
• Prepare financial statements under UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Prepare detailed consolidation workings for groups to support the financial statement preparation process.
• Support year end process through liaison with external auditors in a timely and professional manner.
• Research, draft and respond to client technical queries covering IFRS and UK GAAP corporate reporting matters, working both independently and supporting senior team members.
• Developing and maintaining an advanced level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading, research and appropriate development and training requirements.
• Liaise with clients continually on topics including communicating job status, resolving technical queries and seeking required information relevant for the financial statements.
• Potential to maintain a small portfolio of clients that require monthly/quarterly management accounts and VAT reporting.
• Delegating, supervising, and reviewing the work of junior members of the team, providing feedback and support as necessary, including being involved in the development of junior staff.
• Keep Managers and Partners informed of the progress on the team\'s jobs.
• Understand the specification of the assignment agreed with the client and report immediately to the Manager (or Partner) if and when this specification may need to be changed.
• Be able to take ownership of an assignment and see it through to completion with the willingness to solve issues as and when they arise.
• Keep costs within budget wherever possible and report to the Manager/Partner as soon as agreed time/budget appears to be compromised.
• Support the Manager and/or Partner with client pitch documentation and meetings.

• ACCA or ACA qualified
• Experience of preparing statutory accounts and management accounts
• Knowledge and experience of UK GAAP, specifically an understanding of FRS102
• Knowledge and experience of IFRS (desirable)
• Excellent communication skills
• Client facing experience, preferably within the financial services sector
• IT skills: MS Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook; Accounting software knowledge and experience - Sage, QuickBooks or Xero (desirable); Advanced Excel skills (desirable); CaseWare (desirable)
