Job summary
A leading financial firm in Belfast is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join its team. The role involves managing a client portfolio, preparing monthly reconciliations, and assisting with financial statement preparations. Candidates should have 4-5 years of experience in a similar role and be studying towards an ACCA qualification. The ideal applicant will have strong organizational skills and proficiency in Excel. Qualifications

Purcelloleary are currently recruiting on behalf of our client anAssistant Accountant for theirBelfast office. The successful candidate will demonstrate an eagerness to learn and have a flexible approach to their work.
Within a young and international working environment, you will have the following responsibilities:
AssistantAccountant
- Manage a portfolio of clients
- Prepare the monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet nominals
- Journal preparation and processing
- Finalisation of management account packs
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Supporting the preparation of financial statements for corporate entities, LLP’s and consolidations
- Liaising with auditors and uploading audit information into a variety of systems
- Support our different UK offices
- Any ad-hoc items required by the team
- Preparation of the Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”) regulatory returns
Your skills for the AssistantAccountant role:
- Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of preparing management accounts
- Studying towards a professional qualification, ACCA or equivalent
- Experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience of accounting systems, such as Xero and Twinfield, is desirable but not essential
- Financial statements preparation experience, using either Word & Excel or CCH AP desirable but not essential
- Strong organisational skills
- Strong excel skills highly desirable
- Motivated to work in a fast growing, dynamic and challenging environment
- Valid work permit for the UK
