A recruitment agency is looking for a Buyer to join a well-established business in Chesterfield. The Buyer will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating cost reductions, and ensuring timely supply of materials. Candidates should have experience in a supplier-focused role and MS Office proficiency. The position offers a salary of approximately £35k - £38k, reflecting the importance of managing procurement effectively.

Responsibilities
- Create and transmit POs promptly to minimize lead times.
- Build solid relationships with supply chain partners.
- Negotiate with suppliers to meet cost reduction targets.
- Research and evaluate new suppliers based on multiple criteria.
- Initiate supplier onboarding and manage RFQs.
- Collaborate with engineering and production for timely material supply.
- Support supplier meetings and maintain quality supplier relationships.
- Ensure alignment with the engineering team for project success.
- Focus on KPIs and take action to improve procurement performance.
- Implement continuous improvement actions to enhance KPIs.

Inspire Resourcing are recruiting a Buyer on behalf of our fantastic client in Chesterfield.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well established business based in Chesterfield.
- Create/transmit POs to suppliers in a timely manner, measuring & minimising the leadtime from PO Request to PO Placement
- Build and maintain regular interaction & first-class relationships with key supply chain partners
- Negotiate with key suppliers to achieve cost reduction objectives
- Research and evaluate potential new suppliers (working with engineering) taking into cost, quality, delivery, lead-time and responsiveness
- Initiate the supplier onboarding process (working with engineering)
- Initiate RFQs and manage responses in line with objectives (cost, lead-time, quantity etc)
- Drive daily collaboration with engineering & production around timely supply of materials/components to build-plan
- Support preparation for supplier meetings, supplier audits and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers through regular and timely information flow
- Work collaboratively with stores (regarding the inbound material supply, and PO date visibility) and with production (minimising production stops due to late delivery of components) and with the inventory control element of the team (to help keep inventory at appropriate levels)
- Maintain water-tight alignment and cross-functional working with the engineering team
- Demonstrate first-rate focus on KPIs and results, continually refining actions plans to address under-performing areas of procurement.
- Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Engineering to create (an execute on) a cost reduction programme
- Demonstrate unwavering ability to handle multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously
- Initiate continuous improvement actions to improve KPIs
- Previous experience in a similar, supplier focused role
- MS Office skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
