About Our Client

The Senior Buyer will play a key role in the Procurement team, ensuring the efficient sourcing and management of materials within a diverse portfolio of globally sourced raw materials. This role, based in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, focuses on driving cost savings, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods.

Job Description
  • Lead procurement activities for a diverse portfolio of globally sourced Raw Materials. Maintain and develop strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and quality.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to achieve cost savings and value for the organisation.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement improvements where necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment on procurement needs and strategies.
  • Analyse market trends and supply chain risks to inform decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all procurement activities.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the procurement strategy.
The Successful Applicant
  • At least two years' experience in a similar purchasing role within manufacturing (preferably chemical industry), or five-plus years' broader purchasing experience seeking progression into senior responsibilities.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.
  • Ability to analyse market trends and data to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant procurement software and tools.
  • A degree or professional qualification in a related field is preferred.
  • MCIPS qualified or working towards qualification.
