Junior Publicist / Publicist - (Film, TV and Entertainment)
Salary: £23,000 - £30,000 dependent on experience
Strike Media is an innovative and fast thinking agency which has been established in the industry for the past 16 years.
They work across mainly film clients from a consumer and trade perspective running PR, influencer, event organisation and brand partnerships.
Strike’s current and consistent clients include Paramount Pictures, Sky, Vertigo Releasing, Lightbulb Film Distribution, The Movie Partnership, Kaleidoscope Entertainment, Bulldog Film Distribution as well as repping indepdent productions and festivals.
Current and recent projects include Smurfs, The Running Man, Naked Gun, Dogspiracy, The Ritual, The Red Mask, Road to Patogobia to name but a few
Essential requirements:
• Interest in film and TV

• An excellent eye for detail
• Enthusiasm for building media relationships

• Core computer skills of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email
Preferable requirements:
• Understanding of social media platforms and how to deliver the right
messaging
• Video editing ability
• Design capabilities
• Understanding of the influencer world
Overview of role:
• Will learn offline and online PR skills and how to generate excellent
relationships with the media
• Assisting with Talent handling, junkets and events
• Managing client relations on a day-to-day basis, ensuring deadlines are met
• Distribute assets for films
• Assisting with putting junkets together and managing talent schedules
• Maintaining and updating reports, sending weekly, ensuring timely
collation of wrap reports and coverage documents
• Arrange meetings with press to keep up to speed and maintain
relationship with them
• Create eye-catching press releases
• Contribute to ideas/brainstorms/pitches
• Attend events/functions to network with industry colleagues
The Junior Publicist / Publicist is responsible for day-to-day media liaison and project management within accounts. As the most media-focused role within the Account Servicing team, a Publicist will thrive on successfully pitching their clients’ stories to the media. Has the necessary skills to communicate effectively with their clients, team members and media contacts.
Key responsibilities and tasks:
Client Management
Assists the Head of Publicity with the day-to-day management of clients and projects
Media Relations
• Understands and avidly follows the news and industry agenda
• Directly pitches engaging content to journalists, bloggers and broadcasters on an on-going basis
• Assists in the management of talent junkets and tours, press meetings and events (including managing screenings and premieres where appropriate)
• Research, identification and approaches to appropriate media contacts (eg. journalists, bloggers, analysts) on an ongoing basis
• Identifies and secures standing opportunities such as columns and Q&As
• Continually builds a solid understanding of the media landscape across national, regional, industry-specific and vertical channels
