Job summary
A leading engineering and manufacturing company in London seeks a Configuration Controller to manage technical data within the IFS ERP system. The role involves coordinating authorisations, supporting sales bids, and generating specifications. Candidates should have experience in configuration management, ERP systems, and a solid understanding of related processes. Qualifications
- Experience in configuration management.
- Experience of working with ERP systems (IFS, SAP, etc.).
- Knowledge of IFS ERP would be beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Administer the release and change control of technical data within the IFS ERP system.
- Act as a focal point for IFS ERP design change requests.
- Generate and maintain Specifications of Technical Requirements.
Skills
Ourclient is a leading engineering and manufacturing company that provide both mechanical and electronic components for the MOD.
Due to the increased demand they are looking for a Configuration Controller on a permanent basis.
- Administer the release, change control of technical data within the business IFS ERP system, and coordinate the authorisation process.
- Act as a focal point for matters relating to IFS ERP design change requests, build state definitions, deviations and engineering part revisions.
- Maintain technical descriptions within the IFS ERP system part catalogue upon approval of alternative components.
- Participate with the sales bid process (configuration and quality assurance aspects).
- Create and maintain project configuration plans to meet customer requirements.
- Generate and maintain Specifications of Technical Requirements and prepare data packs in accordance with the STR for use by suppliers.
- Attend software release meetings and maintain IFS ERP version control and the software repository.
- Champion and improve configuration functionality within the IFS ERP system, so there is no reliance on legacy bespoke data management tools.
- Identify and promote improvements for managing IFS ERP data and controls.
- Participate with system QHSE and data protection activities.
- Experience in configuration management.
- Experience of working with ERP systems (IFS, SAP, etc.).
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of IFS ERP would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001.
- Understanding Design for Manufacture.
- Understanding Change Control.
- Understanding Product Qualification & Accreditation.
- Understanding Mechanical Drawings.
