Job summary

A leading infrastructure company is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial aspects of projects, including budgeting, contract negotiations, and stakeholder communication. Ideal candidates will have strong analytical skills, a qualification in Quantity Surveying, and sound knowledge of construction methods. Qualifications

  • Ideally experienced in regulated environments like Pharmaceuticals or Biotechnology.
  • Experience in NEC Contracts is advantageous.

  • Providing commercial support on contract analysis and negotiations.

Job description

Your role is to monitor all commercial aspects of the projects and most importantly to maximise our profitability. You\'ll be forecasting the costs of materials, labour, and equipment to provide detailed estimates during the design and planning phases. You\'ll also execute budget management through the construction phase down to final account. You\'ll be responsible for:

Responsibilities
  • Preparing detailed budgets and cost plans for the projects
  • Commercial support of contract analysis and negotiating terms and conditions with clients
  • Prepare, submit and manage applications, invoices and variations with the client
  • Management of subcontract accounts, including contract administration and general commercial input into projects
  • Preparing and monitoring risk analysis schedules and KPI\'s
  • Supporting tendering and estimating new projects
  • Liaising with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project goals are met and visit construction sites to monitor progress and manage the valuation process
Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail
  • Qualified in Quality Surveying or related discipline
  • Sound knowledge of construction methods and costs, e.g. NEC Contracts
  • Ideally experienced in sectors like Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Nuclear, or similar regulated environments
  • Willingness to travel
