A growing accountancy practice in North Somerset is looking for a Trainee Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant. This role offers an exciting opportunity with full training and support towards an AAT qualification. Responsibilities include general bookkeeping using Xero, balancing accounts, and preparing VAT returns. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential. A competitive salary of £25,000 - £28,000 is on offer, with hybrid working available after training.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to join a growing accountancy practice based in North Somerset, providing a full suite of accounting and business management support to a wide range of clients.
Previous experience as a bookkeeper or accounts assistant would be an advantage, but is not essential, as full training and support will be provided. Study leave and support towards the AAT qualification is also available.
This role offers the chance to begin a career in practice, with a clear pathway to becoming a fully proficient bookkeeper and management accountant.
Skills & Attributes
GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
Strong organisational skills with a problem-solving mindset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure
Key Responsibilities
General bookkeeping duties, predominantly using Xero, DEXT and Excel
Balancing accounts
Processing invoices
Completing bank reconciliations
Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
