A reputable construction company in Cleckheaton is seeking a proactive Company Accountant/Finance Manager for a full-time office-based role. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in CIS/VAT and finance within the construction industry, with responsibilities including management of audits, cashflow forecasting, and preparation of management accounts. This permanent position offers an excellent profit share scheme and is unsuitable for hybrid working.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Company Accountant or Finance Manager.
  • Strong knowledge of the Construction Industry.
  • Ability to manage audits and submissions effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage CIS/VAT submissions and compliance.
  • Prepare and issue management accounts regularly.
  • Oversee bank monitoring and reconciliations.

Job description

My client is an Award-winning regional Main Contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering quality Construction projects on time and to budget. They are currently looking to recruit a Company Accountant/Finance Manager to join their business on a full-time permanent basis. This role would suit a proactive, dynamic accounts professional with lots of drive and vision preferably with knowledge of the Construction Industry.

Responsibilities
  • CIS/VAT knowledge for Construction Industry
  • CIS/VAT Submissions
  • Produce Cashflow Forecasts
  • Management of Audit by external accountant
  • Regular Bank monitoring/transfers etc
  • Subcontractor Payments/retentions/CIS
  • Fixed Assets
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Preparation of Monthly/Quarterly Management Accounts
  • Accruals/Prepayments
  • Full reconciliations
  • Prepare and Issue P11Ds
  • CITB Levy submissions
  • Provide information for Office for National Statistics
  • Assist procurement of Performance Bonds/Section agreement
  • Prepare and administer Expenses
  • B&CE Pension Submissions
  • PAYE
  • Assist front of house including phone calls/deliveries etc
  • Other miscellaneous duties.
Other info
  • Full time 39 Hours/office-based role
  • Role unsuitable for Hybrid working
  • Company established circa 50 years ago with exceptional staff retainment/length of service.
  • Excellent profit share scheme and holiday plus scheme
  • Required qualifications: CIMA or ACCA or equivalent
