Based at The Willows Centre for Health, the department is seeking to employ a qualified GI Clinical Physiologist or someone working towards equivalence within the next 6-12 months (salary annex 21 of band 7). The successful candidate will be competent in a range of GI Physiology, including upper and lower GI physiology, and will be expected to fulfill deputy roles and participate in teaching and training.
The position is advertised as a band 7 role. However, applicants who do not currently meet all skills and competencies are encouraged to apply; successful candidates will be appointed under annex 21 rules with a development plan for 1 year (75% of a band 7).
Our team consists of 5 core staff, including a Clinical Scientist, Clinical Physiologists, and an admin clerk. We are looking to expand with an enthusiastic and compassionate qualified individual. Our referrals come from across the North West, from Cumbria and Crewe to the south. We are part of the North West GI Physiology network and have strong links with the National School of Healthcare Science and Newcastle University, which is part of the Scientist Training Programme.
We are seeking a GI Clinical Physiologist/Scientist to join our busy department. The role involves undertaking oesophageal manometry, 24hr pH/impedance monitoring, anorectal physiology investigations, and analyzing and reporting findings. There is scope to expand knowledge and skills into biofeedback, High Resolution impedance Manometry (HRiM), antroduodenal manometry, capsule enteroscopy, and breath tests. Ideally, candidates will be AGIP accredited and registered with RCCP or HCPC (or within 6-12 months).
