Job description
Mental Health Research Nurse - Research Delivery

The closing date is 23 December 2025.

The post holder will also be responsible for the day to day management of the Mental Health research portfolio, managing recruitment of research participants into studies, set-up and closure of studies, data management and reporting metrics in line with key performance indicators for research in Wales. The post holder will have research or extensive clinical experience and possess excellent clinical skills.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to work closely with directorate colleagues in order to deliver a quality research service, enhancing the patient experience and providing reputational excellence for Cardiff and Vale Research Delivery teams.

Job responsibilities
  • The purpose of this post is to increase the number of patients participating in clinical trials at Cardiff and Vale UHB.
  • The post will contribute to the assessment and management of the care pathways for patients and carers participating in clinical trials. This will include the recruitment, education, monitoring of trial patients, the collection and documentation of accurate data.
  • Working autonomously to assist in the management of a caseload of clinical trial patients, whilst working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Maintain effective communication with patients, carers and professionals to ensure high quality service delivery.

Experience
  • Evidence of previous patient/client and Multi Disciplinary Team contact within work environment
  • Experience of undertaking clinical research and/or extensive clinical experience in Mental Health
