Electrical Supervisor
Job summary
A leading construction firm is looking for an experienced Electrical Supervisor for a freelance position on a commercial hotel fit-out project in Glasgow. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience in similar projects, a valid ECS Gold Card, SSSTS qualification, and a full UK driving licence. Responsibilities include supervising electrical trades, ensuring quality control, and maintaining site records. This is a vital role to ensure project success and safety compliance.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience as an Electrical Supervisor.
- Proven supervisory experience on commercial or hotel fit-out projects.
- Valid ECS Gold Card and SSSTS qualification.
- Full UK driving licence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all on-site electrical trades, including electricians and subcontractors.
- Interpret electrical drawings and ensure all works are delivered to standard.
- Conduct regular inspections and implement strict quality control.
- Coordinate with other trade supervisors and project manager.
- Enforce health & safety requirements and monitor compliance.
- Review test & inspection certification and documentation.
- Monitor progress against programme and identify potential delays.
- Support snagging, defect resolution, and handover documentation.
- Maintain accurate site records including reports and material usage.
Skills
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join our team on a commercial hotel fit out project. This is a freelance position suitable for someone with strong site supervision experience, excellent technical knowledge, and a proactive approach to quality, safety, and programme delivery.
- Supervise all on-site electrical trades, including electricians and subcontractors
- Interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and design packages; ensure all works are delivered to standard
- Conduct regular inspections and implement strict quality control across all installation works
- Coordinate effectively with other trade supervisors, the project manager, and the site management team
- Enforce all health & safety requirements: ensure RAMS are in place, monitor PPE compliance, and maintain safe systems of work
- Review test & inspection certification and commissioning documentation
- Monitor progress against programme, identify potential delays or risks, and escalates where required
- Support snagging, defect resolution, and handover documentation
- Maintain accurate site records including daily/weekly reports, timesheets, and material usage
- Minimum 3 years' experience as an Electrical Supervisor
- Proven supervisory experience on commercial or hotel fit-out / industrial projects
- Valid ECS Gold Card
- SSSTS qualification
- Full UK driving licence
