Job summary
A prominent principal contractor in South Wales is seeking a Site Agent to manage new build footbridge schemes. This role involves overseeing daily site operations, ensuring safety compliance, coordinating resources, and managing project progress against budget. Ideal candidates will hold relevant civil engineering qualifications and certifications such as SMSTS, PTS, and CSCS, alongside solid management skills. This opportunity offers a chance to play a key role in diverse rail infrastructure projects.
Qualifications

Responsibilities
- Manage daily site operations, focusing on safety.
- Oversee site safety culture and compliance.
- Coordinate resource, plant, and material procurement.
- Ensure work execution aligns with contract terms.
- Manage contract progress against the budget.
- Liaise with teams to report project progress.
- Identify and implement contract changes.
- Produce formal progress reports.

Education
We are working with aleading principal contractor delivering a diverse range of rail infrastructure projects for key clients including Network Rail and Transport for Wales. Their work spans across bridge reconstruction, station upgrades, tunnels, embankments, and footbridge schemes.
Due to secure several new frameworks and additional work streams, they are growing their team and require a Site Agent to join their South Wales business.
The successful individual will play a pivotal role in delivering a portfolio of new build footbridge schemes within South and Mid-Wales.
You will report to a Project Manager and be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards.
- Managing daily site operation, including safety-critical activities
- Overseeing site safety culture and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations
- Coordinating resource, plant, and material procurement
- Ensuring work is executed in line with legislation, contract terms, and health and safety plans
- Managing contract progress against programme and budget
- Liaising with site teams, surveyors, and stakeholders to monitor and report on project progress
- Identifying, managing, and implementing contract changes effectively
- Producing formal progress reports for project and contract managers
- SMSTS Certification
- PTS Certification
- CSCS Card
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering
