My client in the Leicester area is currently looking for a Senior Civil Engineer due to expansion.
Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to join our dynamic design team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and delivering projects across various sectors, including residential, commercial, and retirement/care schemes. The role will involve close collaboration with developers, architects, and local authorities, with a focus on drainage, highways, and external works.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work within a Civil Engineering design team, focusing on drainage systems, highway layouts, and S278/S38 schemes.
- Manage design resources for Drainage Systems in accordance with standards such as Sewers for Adoption, Building Regulations, and the SuDS Manual.
- Lead and manage the design of on-site and off-site highways, adhering to industry standards (Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Manual for Streets).
- Prepare proposals and manage project budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Oversee junior team members, reviewing their designs, reports, and drawings.
- Attend client meetings and site visits, ensuring clear communication and the successful implementation of projects.
- Provide mentoring and support to junior staff members, contributing to their professional development.
- Ensure compliance with the company's Quality Management System (QMS) through accurate and timely completion of administrative tasks.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status or working towards it, with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
- Degree or HND in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years’ consultancy experience in civil engineering, working with local authorities, developers, and architects.
- Proven experience in managing civil engineering projects, including drainage, external works, and highways elements.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Site 3D, or equivalent 3D software; knowledge of other engineering software is advantageous.
- Strong project management skills, with experience handling projects through the planning process (pre-app to condition discharge).
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and commercial frameworks.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
