Principal Civil Engineer

First People Solutions is recruiting for a leading multidisciplinary consulting engineer based in Manchester. Operating across the UK and Europe, the company is highly regarded for delivering complex, high-profile projects across key sectors including life sciences, power & energy, transportation, and the public sector.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to take a pivotal leadership role within their Manchester office. You will lead and develop the civil engineering team, driving business success while overseeing the delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with proven leadership capabilities and have broad experience across civil engineering disciplines such as earthworks, drainage, highways, and associated infrastructure works.

Your experience, background and approach to work will include :

8 years of experience working within a design engineering environment with strong technical and design capability

Degree in civil engineering and chartered status (CEng)

Skilled in the design of roads, earthworks and drainage infrastructure for development projects

Proficient with Civil 3D and InfoDrainage software

Confident working directly with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams

Experience managing, mentoring and supporting junior engineers
