Job summary
A construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a 3-month contract in the UK. This role offers flexibility, but candidates must be willing to conduct site visits in North East Lincolnshire. Key responsibilities include managing procurement, providing cost planning, and aligning with project management. Ideal candidates have a strong background in retail or leisure developments. Excellent communication skills are essential.
Qualifications
- Proven background as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within retail, leisure, or mixed-use developments.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and cost management.
- Capable of working independently, with flexibility for occasional site visits.
Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement of trade packages and subcontractors.
- Prepare and issue tender documentation and evaluate returns.
- Provide cost planning, budget management, and commercial reporting support.
- Work closely with project management and design teams for cost efficiency.
- Offer commercial input during early construction stages.
Skills
I am currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join my client initially on a 3 month contract. Flexible working is offered but site visits to North East Lincolnshire is required weekly.
The scheme involves transforming an existing retail centre into a modern mixed-use retail and leisure destination, including a new cinema complex and associated facilities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded QS who enjoys working autonomously and has strong procurement experience within the construction or fit-out sectors.
