Support Worker Medway

Hours: 21hrs per week, 2‑week rota contract: Permanent fixed days as below:

  • Week 1 – 9am – 4pm Wednesday, Friday and Sunday
  • Week 2 – 9am – 4pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Our starting salary for a support worker is £23,888 per year (based on a 37.5‑hour week – £12.25 per hour).

We're actively seeking kind, caring, and dedicated Support Workers to join the team at Kent Autistic Trust. You'll be supporting autistic adults and those with associated neurodevelopmental conditions in welcoming residential and supported living services across Medway, helping with practical and emotional daily support, personal care, medication, and engaging in meaningful activities like swimming, shopping, cinema trips, and even theme park days.

You’ll also be involved in supporting with everyday domestic tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe, comfortable living environment.

This is a rewarding support worker role where no two days are the same. Some of the people we support may express themselves through behaviours that reflect anxiety, sensory overload, or difficulties in communication. You’ll need to remain calm, consistent and compassionate, using person‑centred approaches to understand and respond appropriately to each individual’s needs.

Key Requirements
  • Manual UK driving licence essential – confident driving mobility vehicles/people carriers
  • Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
  • Ability to confidently and consistently support individuals who may experience emotional distress, heightened anxiety, or difficulty regulating their behaviour
