Engineering Supervisor
Core Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
The Role
As the post holder, you will be expected to have an extensive understanding of Building Services Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & associated assets). As the lead member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for effective inspection, operation, and maintenance of all associated assets within the critical facility, with a primary focus on enhancing the quality of service delivery through effective leadership and exceptional customer service.
You will ensure that the conduct of any personnel under your control is safe, professional, and conscientious. You will also be required to attend site meetings with the client and on behalf of the client as requested. You will drive a Safety-First culture throughout the team, leading through your experience and knowledge of safe systems of work and compliance.
You will be authorized to issue PTWs, ensuring compliance with method statements, risk assessments, and safety procedures. You will ensure that personnel under your control conduct themselves safely and professionally.
Key Tasks - Duties to include:
- Supervision, coordination, and support of the engineering team.
- Operate all systems within the facility effectively, including LV Switching Operations.
- Make recommendations for improvements and provide technical reports as required.
- Manage all activities related to the technical and efficient operation of building systems and assets, ensuring statutory compliance.
- Support planning and execution of vendor works, with proper change management approval.
- Ensure quality and safety of vendor work through inspections and sign-offs.
- Ensure compliance with contractual SLAs.
- Operate the Corrigo CMMS system accurately, ensuring timely completion of work orders within SLA.
- Complete work orders with accurate details and time tracking, ensuring no errors.
- Report on system availability and risks daily.
- Participate in meetings and complete daily reports.
- Manage critical spares and stock levels.
- Report incidents and conduct after-action reviews.
- Ensure all planned maintenance complies with OEM and industry standards.
- Escalate operational issues promptly.
- Review vendor reports and follow up on recommendations.
- Prepare and participate in emergency and scenario drills.
- Contribute to safety improvements and compliance.
- Escalate vendor performance issues.
- Support resourcing and on-call operations.
- Maintain areas under control to high standards.
- Coordinate with supply chain for parts procurement.
- Attend training and promote team development.
- Conduct technical assessments and skills gap analyses.
- Coach new employees and participate in QA processes.
- Manage alarms and respond to critical events.
- Undertake mechanical reactive and corrective tasks.
Personal Specification:
- Minimum 3 years experience in critical environments.
- LV Authorised Person.
- Electrical/Mechanical HNC or HND, or apprenticeship.
- C&G Pts. 1 & 2 or equivalent.
- 17th Edition wiring and installation (18th Edition preferred).
- IOSH Working Safely or NEBOSH.
- IPAF certification.
- L8 Awareness Training.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
