Job summary
A leading Residential Developer is seeking a Health & Safety Manager in Chelmsford, England to support multiple sites on a contract basis for around four months. The candidate will ensure compliance and improve site safety, engage with staff, and conduct inspections. Essential qualifications include NEBOSH certification and IOSH membership, alongside experience in housebuilding schemes. The role offers a competitive day rate and an opportunity to make a significant impact in health and safety management.
Qualifications

- Familiarity with Temporary Works is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance and understanding within Site and Project Management.
- Coach site staff and engage Safety in a multi-site portfolio.
- Perform in-depth inspections and audits while finding solutions.
- Identify improvements for smooth site operations.

Education
A leading Residential Developer are looking for a Health & Safety Manager to cover multiple sites across Essex on a contract basis for circa four months (potentially longer), providing daily support and driving the safety agenda in conjunction with the in‑house Safety team.
Reporting into the Group HSE Manager you will be:
- Working with Site and Project Management to ensure compliance and improve understanding
- Coaching site staff and engaging Safety in a multi‑site portfolio
- Performing in‑depth inspections and audits and proactively finding solutions to site issues
- Identifying areas for improvement whilst ensuring the smooth running of the site
This is not a role to get 'bogged down' in inductions and the basics expected on‑site. You will be a proactive thinker able to help with strategy whilst being visible operationally and improving workforce engagement in Health & Safety. You will also be:
- NEBOSH-qualified (ESSENTIAL)
- A member of IOSH (ESSENTIAL)
- Experienced in housebuilding schemes (ESSENTIAL)
- Experienced in Temporary Works (DESIRABLE)
The contract will be a minimum of four months and a highly competitive day rate between £(Apply online only)p/d. Please get in touch if interested. I cannot stress enough you must have housebuilding experience to be considered.
