Job summary
A technology firm seeks an experienced Apps Developer to join their Software Engineering team. This role emphasizes developing custom software solutions using Node.js, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior developers. The position is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days onsite per week in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in AWS DevOps and agile practices. Competitive daily rates are offered for this 6-month initial contract.
Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in Node.js is required.
- Familiarity with AWS DevOps and GitLab CI/CD is recommended.
- Experience with modern frameworks and agile practices.

- Serve as a subject‑matter expert, collaborating and managing the team to perform effectively, making team decisions and contributing to key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for the immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Design and implement innovative software solutions that meet client requirements.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure high‑quality standards and best practices; collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather and analyze requirements.
- Mentor junior team members and share knowledge to foster a collaborative environment.
- Continuously improve software development processes and methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency in Node.js (required).
- Advanced proficiency in AWS DevOps & Development, GitLab CI/CD, and GitLab (recommended).
