A leading healthcare provider in Wales is seeking a Children's Nurse Specialist to manage care for patients with inherited blood disorders. Responsibilities include providing expert nursing care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and leading service improvements. The candidate should be a registered child nurse with strong clinical knowledge. Competitive salary ranging from £39,263 to £47,280 per annum, pro-rata.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated Paediatric Specialist Nurse in Inherited Bleeding Disorders to join Childrens Services within Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.
The post will involve working on the in-patient wards, assessment units and patient's homes and schools throughout the Health Board and be instrumental in the delivery and development of the existing Haematology and Haemophilia service, working with the existing nursing and medical teams both within the Health Board and Alder Hey hospital.
We are seeking a nurse with excellent up to date specialist clinical knowledge and skills, including non-medical prescribing qualification and experience. Some experience of implementing changes within services would be beneficial.
The Haematology/Haemophilia Paediatric Specialist Nurse is key to the co-ordination of the service within Betsi Cadwaladr health Board. The role will involve liaising regularly with healthcare professionals across health care settings within North Wales and our tertiary centre in Alder Hey.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist works across BCUHB within a clinical specialty acting in the roles of practitioner, educator, consultant, researcher, leader/change agent and care coordinator/case manager in the pursuit of clinical excellence and improved health outcomes. Provides all aspects of nursing care and general support to children and young people with IBD ensuring a seamless service between hospital and community services.
Clinical practice is central to the Clinical Nurse Specialist role, however in order to influence and improve nursing practice it is essential the role is underpinned by the competencies as outlined in the job description below. To develop this service and undertake regular audit activity to assess effectiveness and make recommendations.
The IBD Nursing Service forms part of the shared care arrangements established between the Tertiary Centre (based at Alder Hey Hospital, London) and BCUHB.
This position includes a clinical workload. Maintains the link between Primary and Acute Care, Social Services and Education.
